H.O.G. CSA - Hamlet Organic Garden - Bellport, NY 11713

This is my family's 6th season as members of the HAMLET ORGANIC GARDEN and I can no longer remember a time when we were not shareholders. Take a look at a sample pickup: An assortment of organic vegetables so fresh and delicious, you just can't wait to get home and start cooking. Also available, if you desire: Organic eggs and fruit shares. Included in your membership are pick-your-own herbs and flowers any day at the farm that it's not raining. For 5 months out of each year, I don't even have to visit the produce department of a supermarket. It's wonderful to be able to eat fruits and vegetables locally grown and in season.

Jon - I'm pretty sure they have them almost everywhere in the country. Try googling CSA's - community supported agriculture is what I believe it stands for.

Hi Sheila - They've been around 7 years, I came in on the 2nd after reading a Times article on the concept. They normally have a waiting list but at the end of the season they start selling shares for next summer, if you're interested.

Debb - I'm definitely a fan.

Belinda - I know. After I moved a couple of years ago, I was farther away from pickups and I considered dropping out but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
