Fish'n for the CauseFish'n for the Cause is a three-day fluke, bluefish and striped bass fishing tournament.  All proceeds will benefit chairties with 90% going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and 10% going to the Clean Ocean Action Fund.  All fish caught will be donated to the Lunch Break Soup Kitchen in Red Bank, NJ. The event is scheduled for June 8-10, 2012 and is hosted by Clarks Landing Marine Center in Point Pleasant.

The fishing tournaments organzied by Clarks Landing Marine have always been a tremendous success thanks to the generosity and sponsorship of manufacturers and vendors. Through the years, prizes awarded have totaled over $100,000. They are hoping that Fish'N for the Cause will bring together thousands of anglers from all groups and will become known to The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) as one of the largest charitable tournaments in the country

So come out and support the FISH'N FOR THE CAUSE Striped Bass, Fluke and Bluefish Tournament. If you want to donate any prizes or lend your support, please contact them at (732) 899-5559 or email at boatinfonj@clarkslanding.com.

Your post reminds me when I would be taken out to fish for blue fish along the CT shore. This sounds like a very positive event to support the cure and change the menu at the local soup kitchen. Keep us posted on the results of the event!

Thank you for the comment Emily.  Bluefish is fun to catch, not so good to eat, so I'm pretty sure the soup kitchen will be getting fluke and stripers.  BTW, I worked as an air traffic controller in Santa Fe for a time in 2001...great town!
