FAQ: Do I need to use an agent to buy a house?

By
Real Estate Agent with Mossy Oak Properties Outdoor Realty NC #254382

Do I have to use an agent to buy a house? NO

Should I use an agent to buy a house? ABSOLUTELY

If you are considering making one of the biggest purchases in your life, there is no doubt that you should hire a professional to help you through the process. There are numerous reasons as to why you should have a professional guide you through the process AND 90% of the time it's at no cost to you as the buyer. The Seller is usually the one that pays the commission and if the home has a 6% commission built in, either the listing agent will get the entire amount, or it's split between two agents. You might as well have someone representing your interests in the deal it it's FREE to you.

You should definitely do your homework in choosing an agent, but a GOOD agent will know market statistics and will be able to tell you all activity in the market and help you with what's a good deal and what's not.

If you are looking for a good agent in the Charlotte and/or the Lake Norman area, please give our team a call at 704-658-1121.

This is not a matter of "should you use an agent to buy a house".

This is a matter of "do you want to be a lamb going to slaughter".

A buyer should be no more willing to share agents than people would share an attorney.
