It is hard for many people to believe that the air is Santa Fe is beyond clean. According to the first World Health Organization survey of air pollution around the world, Santa Fe, New Mexico’s air quality rating is one of the best in the world. The WHO survey reported the city of Santa Fe and the city of Whitehorse in the Canadian Yukon were the cities with the best rankings.

The WHO measured the air quality by the number of airborne particles smaller than 10 micrometers or PM10s in nearly 1,100 cities. Whitehorse had a yearly average amount of 3 micrograms of PM10s per cubic meter of air, while Santa Fe had a yearly average of 6 micrograms of PM10s per cubic meter of air.

In the most recent American Lung Association State of the Air report, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Honolulu, Hawaii were rated as the two cleanest air cities in the United States. The American Lung Association has rated Santa Fe nearly at the top for the past 12 years. In 2012, Santa Fe and Honolulu tied for first place.

Most people who visit here will tell you our Santa Fe air actually smells clean. I notice the difference as soon as I go somewhere else. Our air is virtually free of pollutants and smog. It is not only breathable, our blue skies are endless and actually are as clean and clear as they look in the images online. There is no need to use photograph to clean our images. The only time I do not see the Sangre de Cristo foothills is when a snow or rain storm is passing through town and the storm embraces the mountains like a beautiful blanket. Smog or air pollution never takes away are mountain beauty.

If clean air is important to you and your health, consider relocating to Santa Fe for your health and lifestyle change. Emily, What a wonderful reason to move to Santa Fe. I know a lot of people have asthma and other upper respiratory problems so all they need to do is check it out and by able to take a deep breath again.

Emily, I've never been to Santa Fe but have lived in Albuquerque and Farmington.  That was crisp, clean air too.

Emily the air even looks clean in the picture.  I wonder what people in large cities like LA would give for a little bit of air like that.

Debbie, one of things we always ask our potential clients to check is to get an approval from their doctor if they have any respiratory condition, such as COPD. Why? Santa Fe is at 7500 feet above sea level and even with our clean air the altitude can make a difference on your heart.

Dorie, I am sure you know many Texans who have 2nd homes here. When are you coming?

Ginny, LOL we still have a good supply left!

Mona, yes and Santa Fe is by far the cleanest in the state.  You and Leslie need to visit sometime.

George, I can not sell the air. I can sell the homes surrounded by it.

Vegas Bob, thank you for the unexpected attention! The view in this image is actually on the market as land with seller financing. The new buyer will have a different cloud story every minute.
