I was walking through one of my listing that was purchase to be renovated and flipped, and I thought will people consider these materials to be outdated 20 years from now?
This home is a twin that was build in 1905 so it has been through some changes in its' life. The most recent changes include a brand new kitchen with tile floor, recessed lighting and stainless steel appliance. The sellers are featuring the home with custom trim to bring back the old world charm. The laundry room is on the 2nd floor next to a full bath with a tile surround walls for the bath tub. The Tile colors are light and dark beiges.
In 20 years will people walk in and say " When was this stuff cool?" I say that when I see green shag carpet, wood paneling on walls, and that crazy wallpaper with fruit on it outlined in gold! Can you say 1970's?!!!
There are materials in a homes that were build 100 years ago that we think are cool still. Hardwood Floors, Clawfoot tubs, and Thick crown molding.
In 2032 will granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and bamboo floors still be awesome?
