It's amazing the quesitons poeple ask.  :)  I would think if home prices are negotiable, rent is too!  Thanks for your answer.

Hi, Joy:  Thank you for dropping by, and for your comment.  Often, this question comes from folks who- like those on the sales side- have numbers in their heads and are looking for me to drop my rent to meet their number.  Rarely are folks asking about a rent price's flexibility looking to be reasonable.  Typical:  Property is listed at $1,200/mo, folks calling to ask if rent is negotiable want to know if the owner would take $900.  Seriously.  Also, unlike those on the sales side, tenant prospects often have little care for the fact that time/days on the market mean a lot with rentals, too.  A place just listed yesterday should have a price that stands for a week or two- or someone did a bad job of pricing it in the first place.
