Arnold's Lilies are Back!

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

My next door neighbor was actually born in his house, which he inherited from his parents.  And when he was a little boy, he planted some lilies in the patch of ground that seperates our front walks.  And every year, they bloom in late may to early June, and bring such beauty to the block.

Lilies are one of my faves, whether day lilies (as these appear to be) or the asiatic. Imagine living for years in the home you were born iin!

Hi Pat, I have sveral of the Lemon colored Day lillies and here is something you might not know. Go out on an evening when it is cool after dark and take a smell. I have had these for a few years and during the day you can't smell any fragrance but at night the smell is light but refreshingly wonderful.

Pat,

These orange day lilies remind me so much of summer.  They are all over the place now and always look gorgeous next to or up against all the blue or purple hydrangea that are in bloom now.  Also both plants last well into the end of the summer and into early fall.

Oh yes, those are such cheerful flowers.  My parents used to have some of those too and they always bloom at such a great time of the year.

Every year when they bloom he probably thinks back to when he planted them!  Imagine all the family history in that house!

That's pretty amazing that he still lives in the same house and that the flowers continue to bloom every year.  What nice memories they must bring to him each year.

There is something special about spring and the flowers that shine for our cameras during that time.
