PLEASE do not leave your dog in a hot car! The summer is here and I've already had to call the police two times for people who've left their dogs in the car. It doesn't matter if you leave the windows down, it only takes 10 minutes for a car to go to 160 degrees inside.
Dogs can have heatstroke in just 15 minutes.
If you see a dog in a hot car, go in the store or wherever you are and ask the Manager to make an announcement. Take down the license plate number and call the police. If the person comes out in the meantime, politely tell them the facts. If you think the dog is in immediate danger, get a witness and break the windows and get the dog out and to a vet immediately.
Never leave the scene until you know the dog is safe.
Thank you for being a responsible pet owner!
