Shift your perspective through YOGA!

Working in Real Estate in this very competitive city, sometimes we need other activities or hobbies to balance out our work life. For me, I take a lot of Vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa yoga by broad definition is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale.(Source) http://yoga.about.com/od/typesofyoga/a/vinyasa.htm

I have been practicing vinyasa yoga for about 5 years now and lately I have been working on some more challenging poses such as many upside down poses (handstand, headstand, forearm stand and etc). Instead of just going to group classes, I have hired one of my favorite teacher to teach me in private one on one sessions so we can refine all of my poses.

Today, during our private one on one class, we worked on some intense handstand poses where I was on my hands upside down and seeing the room in a completely different perspective and she was giving me a lot of instructions to refine the pose...I have to admit, it was very different and difficult to digest information when you are standing on your hands!  Sometimes shifting our perspective literally can really challenge our brain to work harder and differently, I am determined to be a better handstander next time I am in the private yoga session. Although standing on my hands were not easy, I admit that I enjoy putting myself out of the comfort zone and push to see what happens.

Do you also have a hobby or exercise regime that you enjoy? Do you also push yourself? I would love to know.

Here is an video a girl practice pretty amazing yoga...

I think I need some kind of relaxation besides just work. Yoga seems like a good choice. If you can pull me off this computer.
