Pure North Idaho! 1933 LOWER PACK RIVER ROAD, SANDPOINT, ID

View from the Pack River

As I was filling out the MLS listing information on this home, I found I was getting more & more excited about what this Pack Riverfront property actually offered.

Let's start with the location.  1933 Lower Pack River Road is just 10 miles from Sandpoint's city limits and a mere 1.5 miles from the famous Idaho Club Golf Course (a Jack Nicklaus designed masterpiece)!  It is hidden in a spectacular mountain meadow, yet is just 75 yards off Lower Pack River Road...a well maintained county road.

As we researched the river frontage on the Pack River (one of Sandpoint's most treasured tributaries into Lake Pend Oreille - one of Idaho's world class destinations), we found that this frontage was an astounding 2000 (+/-) feet of sandy beach.  ...and here was the clincher...the entire 2000' length of the Pack River borders the Trout Creek Wildlife Management Area which is part of Kaniksu National Forest...an astounding 1.6 million acres.

Pack River

Pack River DeltaWhen you consider the wildlife, seclusion, pristine beauty and the potential for an "off-the-grid" type of lifestyle while still enjoying the convenience of being close to town (Sandpoint, ID...voted the most beautiful small town in the U.S. by Rand McNally/USA Today) how can you not get a little excited about this offering?  In fact, while we were at our listing presentation, a mother moose and her calf walked right up to the living room deck!  I pulled out my iPhone and recordered the event...not the highest quality video, but proof-positive I'm not exagerrating the magnitude of this listing! (The photo to the right is the Pack River Delta where The Pack enters Lake Pend Oreille...a short 3 mile canoe trip from "your" backdoor).

The location is extraordinary, obviously...but let's talk about the home, itself.

1933 Lower Pack River Road

This stunning 3BR/5BA/3424sq ft.log home (with an oversized 2-car garage & wrap around deck), was built in 2010 and is just 9.9 miles from Sandpoint. All 3 Bedrooms include a private bath. Enjoy off-the-grid seclusion with the wood burning stove & elec. forced air heat/AC on this forested Pack River peninsula.  There is even an established garden area complete with a seperate well and running water on this 14.6 acre masterpiece!

Thanks, Tony.  This really is a special spot.  How does this not sell quickly?

Hi Kent,

My family and I are relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area and we're not ready to buy yet, so we're looking to rent.  I found this property on a property management's website as available to rent and I also see that it is For Sale as well.

Can you give me more information on this property, please?  Is it truly for rent and if so what are the terms?  When would it be available?  We would be looking for at least a one year term, possibly longer, as we search for the ideal home to purchase.  We have one in mind but it keeps going in and out of foreclosure...lol.

A little bit about us: we are a family of 4 adults: my wife and I (Kit and Lisa) and our two adult son's Jonathan (27) and Andrew (24), and our Golden Retriever, Baylee (9).   We are scheduled to move out of our home May 1st.

Looking forward to your response!

Hi Kit -  The home sold and the new owners are looking for a qualified renter.  I suggest you respond to the management site about the details.  It's a spectacular setting & a great home!

Hi Kent,

Thank you so much for your response!  It looks like this home may only be available through September 2013, for what ever reason.  We'll contact the management company in the morning for the particulars anyway but we were looking for at least a yearly rental.

If I can I'd like to ask you about a particular property that was on the market about a year or so ago that never sold, and we were told that it ended up going into foreclosure and the bank has taken possession according to the County Clerk's office.  Do you know how we can find out about the property?  Which bank hold the title now??  We've spent hours on the phone with the Clerk, title company and previous lender and none can tell us who holds the deed now so we can contact them.  The property address is 845 Evergreen Rd., Sagle 83860.   We would be very greatful for any information, or if you can just point us in the right direction.

Thank you, and Kind Regards,

Kit and Lisa Crider
