Tracking down the most recent Restrictive Covenants, Road Maintenance Agreements, Home Owners Association and the current elected boards of those groups sometimes makes me feel like a real private eye. To make it a little harder, the Jackson County public website just did a little ahem “upgrade” to the Register of Deeds portion and I haven’t yet discovered how to search by subdivision.
Not that being able to see the names of the homeowners of the subdivision would have been much help. You see, not that long ago you could look up the phone number of one of the residents in something called a phone book. Turns out that not that many people have a landline anymore. Makes a difference. Nope…can’t be as simple as looking up a phone number. In the year of 2012, with scads of technology at our fingertips I had to drive to this subdivision on several occasions trying to catch someone at home.
Finally, today it happened. I visited with the President of the Association. A very nice gentleman. I got the contact information I needed and the updated road maintenance fees. As I was getting ready to head back to the office, I spotted Morris on the fence.
He was kind enough to pose for me and I think his human, the President of the HOA will be pleased to get a copy of this collage.
Just goes to show you, it doesn’t have to be boring getting the information we need to complete our listing or pending folders. It’s all what you make of it.
