How do we prepare for the inspection of our home for sale in PA?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Elite RM423455

We have a contract on your home for sale in Lancaster, PA and are expecting the home inspection to be completed next week. Is there anything as a seller I need to do in order to be prepared for the home Home for sale in Lancaster PAinspection?

A few things to verify or do in preparation for the home inspection:

  • Make sure the attic is accessible.

  • All mechanical items, like furnace and electrical box, should be easily accessible.

  • If you have not already done it in preparation for selling your home, clean your gutters.

  • Have your home free of clutter.

  • If any of your appliances have been recalled for repair, have the repair verification paperwork available for the home inspector or to give to the buyer.

After you have completed this checklist, just relax and allow the inspection to be completed. Any issues, whether major or minor, can hopefully be negotiated.

Good advice, Cal.  A home inspection can save a buyer a lot of headaches, but it can also tell a seller something they may not realize but need to address.  They're a very important tool today, and I would recommend that everyone use them.  Good job!  You serve your clients well.

Josh and Wayne, thanks for your comments and hope you have a great weekend.

Mike, it is true that it helps sellers know what needs to be done. Some sellers are electing to do a prelisting inspection to have problems corrected and to get on the front side of getting work done. Thanks for your words of encouragement and have a great day.

Gabe, helping sellers relax a bit about inspections is not easy. Have a great weekend.

Roy, thanks and what a great flower. The colors are amazing nad you have a great day my friend.
