WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY..., (in the immortal words of Ben Stein), "ANYONE"!!!

There are many forms of winning the Lottery!

I do not know if anyone has ever taken the time to ponder what winning the, "Lottery" truly means!  Ponder this for a moment!!

For example:

•1.     The "Husband Lottery"... you know....you are walking down the aisle right after the words are said, "I pronounce you Man & Wife!" and "Mr. Perfect" now becomes the "Husband Lottery", when he turns, smiles and says.... I did not want to tell you before but......I am worth $$$$$$$$$'s!!!

•2.     The "Wife Lottery"... same thing ...(just not as often)...but the flip side to #1!!!

•3.     The "Son-in-Law Lottery..., you know your daughter comes home and says...."Guess what Mom & Dad.... "I am in love with... John Mayer, and we are getting married"!  (For those of you who do not know....He is a Pop Star, after my own heart! I could have said, Sting!  But that would not be HIP!!)

•4.     The "Daughter-in-Law Lottery"... your Son comes home to visit, pulls up in a brand new Red Ferrari, and sitting beside him is none other then ...Reese Witherspoon, (Miss Legally Blonde, herself!)  And, after introducing you, (a stumbling fool at this point!) and your Husband, (who has now magically transformed into the babbling, RAIN MAN!) ...the prodigal Son proudly states, "And we are married".....

•5.      How about the "Baby Lottery"... You and your Husband have been told by the Family Doctor, "I am sorry to say....but you and your husband will never have children"....of course you are now changing the nastiest of diapers and chuckling to your self!  (God knew different!)

•6.      Then of course there is the one we all dream of: Mr. & Mrs. America Lottery, (I learned this term from my fellow sales agents while selling Lincoln Town cars, many years ago!).... The perfect Clients' criteria: Wanting to spend $1,000,000.00 or more, Cash deal, close within 15 days and no contingencies!

•7.       Last but not least the "Active Rain Lottery"...that is the day that all 64K+ Active Rain members respond to your Blog!  And tell you how great you are...what an impact you have made on their lives and that you have been appointed the Greatest Blogger ever who has even beat out all the Literary Greats of all time with your writing style!

My question to all of you is this: HOW DO YOU... reciprocate these Lottery Winnings????   What is your way of saying, "Thank you"!

Honestly, we have all won a personal lottery or two....and because life has sent you these blessings how do you give back to life???

Which is leading me  into my third question!

Would everyone please subscribe to my blog...(next step)... read and reply to my second blog: "Active Rain Members are the most compassionate, caring, ..... Listen to what others are saying on how we can make a difference in this world! ...Then think of your ideas and reply!

It is time to give back!!!  (And please do not think this is a ploy for points; it is a ploy for humanity!!!

Let's get started!!!

Thank you for your time,

Annie the "3 C's" realtor, (Caring, Compassionate and Creative!)

Well, as Earnest Hemmingway indicated, in his story "The Old Man And The Sea" -- luck happens when you are preapred to receive an opportunity... I am much more inclined to think of luck in this way than in random chance, sicne random chance can become a missed opportunity... sort of like, you cant win if you dont play...

I think we all have to be prepared when our chance comes, and that the combination of preparedness and opportunity is what "Good Luck" really means...

In any event, good luck to you this coming year.

Annie ~ For some of us, being alive and well every day is our realization that we've won the lottery!  Add to that having the opportunity to do the work that we love, and to know that we are helping others in the pursuit, is another huge lottery win!  For me, it doesn't have to be a monetary win ... but I wouldn't mind it either!

I like to give back when I can monetarily such as donating to the food bank, giving blood (oh wait, that's work-- heh, heh).

During my usual flat brokeness, though, I try to do everyday "pay-it-forward" little things like holding doors for people.  In general, being polite and courteous while out and about makes me feel worthy.

Amen, Maureen on the being alive part!  I'd DARN well have a field day if I won a real lottery, too!  Then I could give a giant amount to the food bank.  And set up a community fund for kids without health care, which is despicable.

Annie, my partner and I give back by doing free consults and staging for senior citizen homes.  We love the look on their faces when we say - NO CHARGE!  After being sick for a month I feel like my restored health is the lottery I won recently.  Good post.  Betty
