Technology. It’s all around us. It’s transformed the way we work, think, play, and interact with each other on the most basic levels. It’s led to new businesses and industries while paving the road for the downfall of others. And these effects are not lost on the world of real estate.

It wasn’t so long ago that putting your house on the market meant open houses, flyers, and a ‘for sale’ sign in the front yard. Buying was as simple as talking to a Realtor, looking at the MLS and finding signs on the side of the road that would lead you to your potential home. Those days, however, are long gone. With the internet revolution, real estate has changed dramatically and requires a whole new skill set.

To be successful in today’s fast-paced real estate world, you can’t settle for just any Realtor. You want to make sure you’re working with someone who can assist you in all of your real estate needs, whether that is buying, selling, or even investing. What you need is a tech-savvy Realtor. Such forward-thinking agents understand the tools and skills needed to compete.

The most important tool of the tech-savvy agent is a professional website. Most Realtors today have spent some time creating their own website, but what really separates the leaders of tech-savviness from the pack is how navigable and easy to use the web site is. A good map search, quick contact information, and tools to help clients are all key to this part of the equation.

Social media is another important facet. Facebook, Twitter, and all the rest are great for keeping in contact and staying informed about the market. Another great example is a regularly updated blog. This can keep you informed about local events and how the real estate market is doing nationwide. It can also be a great spot to feature listings, which is a major plus for both buyers and sellers.

All of these features serve to facilitate and expedite the communication of real estate information. This boosts property exposure, helps clients stay in contact with their Realtor, and simplifies the entire process. After all, you wouldn’t want to put your home up for sale, only to have it gain little exposure and bring in a small number of potential buyers. And as a buyer it wouldn’t do much good to hire a Realtor that is difficult to contact, especially if you’ve found the perfect home and you want to snatch it up before someone else finds it.

As you can see, the world of real estate has clearly changed over the last few years. To work with a truly tech-savvy agent, be sure to contact Christa Ross for all of your needs!

those who fail to adapte, fail.

Technology has made the buyer more savvy.

Sellers look at prices, only the high ones.

Buyers note the low ones.

You the agent are the middle person.

Shoot for the stars and be happy with the moon.
