“Walkway Over the Hudson”
Now In The Guinness Book of World Records!
Dancing the Hokey Pokey Above the Hudson River
At 212 feet & tall and 1.28 miles long this abandoned railroad bridge has recently been refurnished and turned into a pedestrian park. Spanning its reach over the Hudson River, the walkway is now a popular historical location. It already holds the record for being the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. Now it holds the Guinness Book of World Records for hosting this Hokey Pokey Event right above the Hudson River.
The walkway receives funding from both the state and a non profit status. Together working with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation it provides a relaxing atmosphere for the public. The official name is Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. This event helped raise money to expand services and maintain the bridge. The Park is host to other events during the year, and barring lighting or major snow and ice storms, is open 365 days a year. Come see the beautiful Hudson River from high above.
