Nutrients for the soul, not just the body...
I had typed about 200 words and it all went away and I'm really NOT in a mood to do that again . The thoughts are gone.
No more typing straight into AR.

I didn't want to leave this post as it was. I was extremely tired last night and have been determined to blog every day and then it all went away so this morning with a fresh cup of coffee, let me see if I can express the thoughts that were spinning last night.
I don't know how many of you are gardeners but I love having a garden. Fresh veggies and fruits straight from the earth are so much better BUT it takes a lot of work sometimes to put that fresh salad on the table.
Don and I have a photograph of his grandparents sitting on the porch of their weathered home, shelling peas. It is easier and costs less these days to just open a can of peas from the grocery and warm them up. BUT there is something very satisfying for me to help plant those peas, shell them and cook them.. They just taste better. I will scan that photo in later today and add it to this post.
I was reading a status update of a friend the other day on Facebook and he had been sitting on his porch shelling peas and reminiscing of his grandparents doing the very same thing. He went on to say that when he took his bounty into the kitchen and washed it, there was only about a cup of peas. That's when it hit me and I commented thus:
"OH but those peas taste so much better and supply nutrients for the soul, not just the body".
And they do, for me at least...maybe not everyone. Preparation of fresh food straight from the garden is a joy and gives me great pleasure.
If it's not gardening for you, then hopefully there are pastimes that you partake of that rest your soul, give you peace, and fulfill something inside that has nothing to do with earning a living, making money, or even is cost effective.
And I even typed this straight into AR even though I said I wouldn't do that.. :)
