Haws The Mod Squad Celebrates #500!!!

THE MOD SQUAD CELEBRATES #500
Snickers is the 500th dog to be part of our Mod SquadTM Behavior Program ... and we're celebrating! *HAWS' Mod SquadTM is a unique group of volunteers that works with special needs animals housed at our shelter. These volunteers are trained to "mod"-ify behavior using a variety of tools and techniques including EZ Walk harnesses, Tellington TTouch�, clickers and interactive toys. Dogs in this program, like Snickers, are in several special needs categories. Maybe they don't thrive in the shelter environment or have been at HAWS a long time. Or, they are dogs who passed the behavior evaluation but aren't quite ready for adoption. Some are dogs who didn't pass the behavior evaluation but are oh-so-close and might with a little help! Other dogs in the Mod SquadTM are dogs already in our adoption ward* who would benefit from a little extra work. Activities provide a source of enrichment for them and quality activities outside their kennels. Join us THIS SATURDAY at HAWS as we celebrate the Mod SquadTM AND all the dogs that have been a part of this great program! Just as the Mod Squad's behavior on the old TV show made good things happen for them, HAWS' Mod Squad's behaviors are helping good things happen for the dogs in our shelter - namely saving the lives of countless dogs who just need that little something extra. HAWS' Mod Squad: Not just a rerun!

Such a fantastic program. I don't think any dog can show their true personality ( or as I like to say, dogonality) in a shelter situation. Getting them out and interacting is exactly what will allow them to thrive and get a good forever home.

Kristin, this is a great program that HAWS is offering for your consumers in the Waukesha area. I must admit that I have never heard of a formal behavior modification program such as this.
