Two bus loads of Addison, Texas Pacesetters (50+ years of age) spent a delightful evening at the Dallas Arboretum on May 29, 2012. We were there to see the Chihuly exhibit and hear Dan Whyms perform a tribute to Johnny Cash.
The Dallas Arboretum is located at 8525 Garland Road in Dallas and the exhibit runs through November 5th. Individual tickets are $10 (seniors) and $12 (members) to $22 (non-members) and parking is free.
On Tuesday and Thursday evenings, there are concerts on the hill inside the Arboretum. In my opinion, this is the best time to go. The gates open at 6:00 pm and the concert starts at 7:30 (7:00 in the fall). You'll have time to wander the grounds and see the 14 fantastic glass sculpture installations that Chihuly made specifically for the Dallas Arboretum, get back to your blanket or lawn chair for the concert, then on the way out, you'll see the sculptures magnificently lit, courtesy of Cirro Energy.
