Photo's from the sky.

Every year and this year is no exception, but I get a call or two about having an Ariel photo taken of my home.

This is a common thing in the rural areas of our Nation.

The price has bee anywhere from $125-over $200.  I even had these people show up trying to sell my the photo all framed.  When I say I am not interested, the price drops by over half.

The thing is, I can get a better photo right off Google Earth...and for a lot less money.

There are several places where you can order  overhead shots of you home or even print your own if the print quality isn't that big of an issue.

The point is...there are a lot of options compared to yesteryear.  Check around and you may be surprised.

It is amazing what we have available to us these days. I have found my home on Google Earth and the whole process is fascinating.

Hi William , the sales technique that is used , makes it sound like a scam. If it is half  price

they should start out at that price. Have a great weekend.

A gentleman knocked on my door one day shwoing me a 16 X 20 arial photo of my home.

It seems an ambitious pilot with a small plan flies around the areas here taking the photos and they market them door to door.

$150.

I passed.

Bill. If you want I can lend you my personal Blimp I purchased for this very reason...it may be a waste of money but I think everyone is going to have a zeppelin in the future.

I live on a city lot, and would have no need, want or use for an arial shot!  I do remember my uncle, who lived in Kansas had a wonderful arial shot of his farm.  I was just a kid then, and was often mesmerized at the picture with the farmhouse, the barns, silos, land and animals.  Google Earth has changed a lot of things.

Bill, I think the idea of an aerial photo of your property is attractive, but yes you need to check around...the Google Earth example is perfect.

When I got divorced, I lost custody of that big beautiful picture of our farm.  You have given me an idea.

We had a great barn, huge windbreaks to the north and west, a big circular drive with a HUGE oak tree in the center, lots of gardens, lawn and outbuildings.  It was a gem.  Oh, and a big two-story five bedroom home.
