27, single and rooming with his 1-year-old on a college campus...
NPR's story of single dad Wil Smith's experience living in his college dorm room with his 1-year-old daughter in tow is one that should inspire many this Father's Day weekend.
Such will and tenacity--the never give up mentality-- are the key to turning dreams into reality.
Wil Smith is not related to actor Will Smith.
In the story Olivia, Smith's daughter who is now a teen, asked him if he was ever embarrassed of bringing her to class or embarrassed of having her.
"I felt a little awkward, but never embarrassed," Smith said. "There were times when the only way I could get through was to come in and look at you and see you sleeping — and then go back to my studies."

The story reminds me of actor Will Smith's character in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. Smith played a single father in the movie, and also struggled to accomplish a goal.
Here's one of my favorite quotes from the movie:
Christopher Gardner: Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you got to protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period. All right?
Christopher: All right.
Dreams Happen.
