Kate, I have never heard of a crab feed--I thought this was about going someone to feed the crabs :)!  How much fun this sounds, I love seafood and would definitely enjoy this.  Wow, thanks for teaching me something today!

How Funny, In California, especially Northern California we just take them for granted.  Well, at least I do.  In fact, I just realized that the picture of me in my profile is of me at a Crab Feed!!

They are fun social events that usually include raffles and an auction to raise money for who ever is holding the event.

I'm curious Carole, there must be something similar in Long Island.  What kind of fund-raisers take place in your area?

Kate, here in the Houston area we have Crawfish festivals.  I'm not a native to this area and had never heard of a crawfish festiveal before moving here but there is a big cajun influence here.  I have to be honest I'm not big on crawfish I think I would like a crab festival better.  Our events do sound similar as far as being fun social events though.
