Two Trails Combine For An Urban Getaway In Carlsbad, California.

For a nearby urban trail that accommodates, wheelchairs, baby strollers, bicyclist, hikers and dogs on leashes consider the combination of two trails in southwest Carlsbad, California. La Costa Glen and La Costa Valley trails are two in Carlsbad's citywide trail system that lie less than a half-mail apart. Put them together and you get about a 4.5 mile workout on an easy mostly level course. Have lunch between the tow or after both in the Forum, a neighborhood shopping center, where you can also park for these trails.

By far the best views from either of these trails comes at the northern end of the La Costa Glen Trail. While housing development lies just west of that trail for most of the way wide open spaces take over near the northern end --  Batiquitos Lagoon comes into view.
