HAPPY FATHERS DAY BILLY BOB!

Yes, I am sure that you are wondering if really and truly my father was named Billy Bob and I have a resounding YES for you!  He was not my biological father but it never felt that way to me.  He stepped into my life and filled a void that was missing.

Born in a dusty, west Texas town called Baird, Texas out near Abilene, Billy Bob was raised with his three other brothers by a God-fearing mother and father.  He was taught to have a strong work ethic and to take care of your family.  He fulfilled both of those attributes completely.

He lived a full life and built a thriving oil business.  Yes, Billy Bob, west Texas and oil!   A true Texas combination!  Later in his career he discovered an oil field and it was named after him, The Pierson Field.  This oil field is still producing and providing my mother with a steady income.

Thank you Billy Bob for coming into my mother's life!  You made her so happy and you gave us the father that we never had.  You are so very missed this day and every day!

Happy Father's Day Billy Bob!  I love you!

Wish I could be spending the day with my daddy but nevertheless, I am spending it with my kiddos' daddy whom I love almost as much! Have a wonderful day!

I, too, had a step-in father.  And, he was everything a girl could hope for.  He was honest, loving and always there when I needed him.  I miss him terribly.  What a great gesture for your step-in father!  He knows you love him still.

Paula,

Great post.. I have not seen my biological father in over 48 years.. It amazes me how God has serogate fathers all over.
The amazing thing is that when our biological fathers are "missing" it leaves a void in our lives, that must be filled. Our Heavenly Father knows our need and sees to it that He dispatches the right person at the right time. We would not be the people we are today otherwise. Thank you for "honoring" your father... Have a blessed day!
