Selling Your Home- Part 3

Today we are back with our last 3 tips on selling your home,

#3- Staging

This tip can be tricky since most sellers are still living in their property, but this is also a very important tip.  Just like with de-cluttering, buyers need to see the potential of the space in each room.  If you have a ton of furniture in one living room, the buyers may think the space is small and be turned off by it.  We know you love your over sized chair, but do you love it more than a good offer on your home?  There are professional stagers that can help; it all depends on how much money you want to invest.  Our suggestion would be to have a friend who seems skilled in this area come over and give you some tips.

#2- Lawn and Driveway Care

When you pull up to an unfamiliar place the first thing you notice is the yard.  You take interest to see if it’s well cared for, maintained, are there flowers growing, etc.  People typically do not want a disaster to clean up when they buy a home, so please care for your yard.  Mow it regularly, weed those flower beds, and maybe put some new mulch down.  If you do not have a green thumb that’s okay, just try a potted plant on the front porch.  Make it look appealing!

 #1- Exterior of Your Home

According to Cindi Pearce…”If your property looks horrible and neglected on the outside, even if it’s delicious inside, no one is going to take the time to give it a look.”  Does your house need that power wash you have been meaning to do, or that extra coat of paint that you should put on there?  Now is the time to do it, the sooner the better.  Don’t wait until it’s been on the market for a while, buyers coming through now want to see a good looking house.

Hopefully with these 10 tips to selling your home you will be well on your way to fielding multiple offers!

I'm reading your post and I can't help but wonder why we all have to keep telling sellers to clean it up!!! I mean imagine going into a clothing store and seeing dirty clothes with holes in them for sale for top $$$$.... I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out... but yet we got a lot of messy houses up for sale and folks wondering why they can't get an offer... YIKES...

I love being a Realtor... don't you???? LOL
