Drain line condensation is a common problem with HVAC systems (heating and cooling). Many times, because of poor workmanship, the are run into septic vents, discharge close to the home, are not tied in to the main line, or tied in but are missing traps. These problems are easily remediated but should not be neglected in order to prevent larger concerns in the future. Mold, moisture, rot (of wood and dry wall) and bugs are some of the problems that can develop if drain lines are left untreated. A good home inspector visually inspects for the lack of drain lines or other problems and notes this on his report.
