Good Morning Everyone,
This is my first post in over a month... Sorry for being away, things have been a little hectic.
I had a conversation a few weeks back with a SEO client who I will not name. I was trying to get a point to him that he was not listening to me on. I will refer to this client as John in this post. What I needed was a moment of humor to get his attention. Finally I said to him "Hey John, your problem is you are dense" He excitedly said "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I AM DENSE", I thought you liked me.. I said, "I do like you, but you are dense, your keyword density is WAY too high, and Google is going to catapult your site to the abyss if you don't make some big changes here"..
The above is a screenshot of an actual site. Well, it is a screenshot of a site that "WAS" It died a terrible death. Google Panda deemed the site worthless, and now it is no more than a deleted domain and a bad memory of how some poor website owner poured time and effort into making it fail.
Ok, back to my client.. So I tell him "your site is WAY too keyword dense, and you need to change it ASAP", thankfully he trusted my judgement on the matter. In 6 days he moved from position 19 to position 10. I am confident the site will hit position 4 after our good friend GoogleBot visits them again.
Tidbit of the day: Panda penalties are DOMAIN wide. What that means is lets say you have a great site that is perfect in every way, but you have ONE page that violates the laws of Panda. Your WHOLE domain gets penalized... Do yourself a favor, identify offensive pages and either FIX them, or DELETE them... Don't stick your head in the sand and expect Panda to leave you alone because you are honest or nice..
OK, the practical for you all..
1: More MORE whitespace on your sites
2: Go to WIDER templates if you are able to
3: STOP stuffing keywords... Google does not need "nagging" sites in their index, they need RELEVANT content!
4: More interlinking on your sites, but do NOT be obnoxious with over usage of keywords
