San Antonio’s Quarry Farmers & Ranchers Market
The San Antonio Quarry Farmers and Ranchers Market is open every Sunday(except Easter)- rain or shine- from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the parking lot of the Quarry Market adjacent to Whole Foods Market on 255 E Basse Road, just off Highway 281 North.
Location
Recognizing that the market location and forming critical partnerships were paramount to the success of the project, the focus was to align the farmers market with the world’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods, Whole Foods Market, and it was great that this company was very supportive of the idea. Whole Foods Market brings a unique element of added convenience for shoppers: If you don’t find what you need outside, just slip into the nearby store for a wide array of healthy foods and products.
Education and Local Entertainers
What truly sets the Quarry Farmers & Ranchers Market apart from others is their commitment to help customers understand the importance of knowing where food comes from and the people who cultivate it, how to eat healthier by eating local, and tips on cooking fresh produce and humanely raised meats.
Each week, local musicians set a rhythm to the open-air environment. Texans love great food and great entertainment. San Antonio’s Quarry Farmers & Ranchers Market has formed a unique partnership with the Texas Music Coalition. Every third Sunday of the month, a member of the Texas Music Coalition (TMC) will be the featured artist in the TMC Showcase. This partnership is unique in that the Quarry Farmers & Ranchers Market is committed to providing the community with the best locally grown food as well as homegrown music.
Thanks, Dorie. The one at the Quarry in San Antonio is very unique because of the partnerships. It may be one of the most popular ones too.
Yes, Gary. They can be very relaxing, and entertaining too. Just being in the atmosphere is wonderful.
Hi Jerry - I frequent our local farmer's markets - they're just getting the really good stuff in now - and the Quarry Farmer's market looks like a very nice one, and the music is a nice addition.
Yes. Cheryl. You are absolutely right about the how great the food tastes. Nothing beats fresh foods.
Hi Jerry, Summertime brings Farmers Markets to all of us and they are just wonderful. It is amazing how fresh produce taste so much better than what you buy in the stores.
Hi Debbie, If I was at your Market in Colorado, I would certainly want to try one of your tomatoes.
Yes, John. I know these Whole Food Markets have a great value and service to offer everyone. I think it's great that they have them in conjunction with the Outside Farmers Market. I am sure Debbie does some great shopping for your guys.
Thanks, Will. It has been a very busy week indeed. Taking classes every morning, and working my real estate business in the afternoon have been challenging these last few weeks. Going to a Farmers Market can be what I need to relax at the end of the week.
Yes, Dick. It's that time of the year to get out and enjoy these Farmers Markets. I believe this one in the Quarry in our area may be one of the most unique ones because of the music, and the opportunity to go inside to the Whole Food Market.
Yes, Belinda. I would certainly agree that these fresh fruits and vegetables are better than what we normally find in the grocery stores. Summer Time is normally when more people are out and about in these Farmers Markets.
Love, love, love Farmers's Markets! And I'm back, Jerry! Good to read your blogs again!
I love the Quarry and the Whole Foods Market, (I probably need to shop there more). I haven't checked out the Farmer's and Rancher's Market there however. Guess I am going to have to see what it's about. Great post Jerry!
Now that is certainly a new twist Jerry, I wonder how it will go over and the staying power of such.
I am always down for a good farmers market. Great localism post there Mr Jerry. Let's see those blazing market reports.

Hi Brenda. Summer Time would be a great time to visit these Farmers Markets, and I had heard some great things about the one in the Quarry, and the Whole Food Market is an added plus.
Hi Charles, I will have to let you know about that staying power. I will keep my eyes on the Quarry Farmers and Ranchers Market. Have a Nice Evening!
Thanks, Kevin. Localism posts are the hottest topic these days, but I plan to get back on my market reports by the weekend. It's been a very busy week, and I really didn't have the time to do any research and write them. I did get a new face-lift with my Facebook Page, and I will be feeding it more often. Have a Nice Evening!
Hi Jerry, nothing better than fresh fruit and vegetables and music. Local fresh grown
