Lebanon Garden TourLebanon Ohio Annual Garden Tour June 23 & 24 2012

Summer is here!  Flowers are blooming!  That must mean it's time for the annual Lebanon Council of Garden Clubs 22nd annual Garden Tour!  Five homes will be opening the garden gates from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 23rd and 24th to share their gardening secrets with you!

And to fit this years Sunflowers and Symphony theme, area music students will be performing at the gardens!  The five gardens and the included Lebanon Station are all within walking distance of each other.  You can expect a variety of approaches to each of these home owner's gardens, fitting the style of these historic homes.

Lebanon Garden Tour

The tour is self-guided and costs $10, or save $2 by buying in advance at Beneath the Tree (9 S. Broadway) or Allyson's Gardens (1268 Oregonia Rd in Lebanon).  All proceeds benefit the upkeep of the Lebanon Station and other Lebanon beautification projects.

Start at The Lebanon Station (198 S. Broadway) where Marvin's Organic Gardens will have a display on sunflowers.  From there proceed to the other five gardens and enjoy your afternoon!  Parking is available on street or at the municipal lots.

Brenda, It's a good recipe!  Some exercise, get outside, pick up some tips for your own garden, a reasonable price and it helps keep Lebanon beautiful.  What's not to like?

Ellen, Noticed on the list that one of the home tour owners is an agent we know from some years back :)

Ginny, We've gotten into flower gardening around our home the last few years.  Still much work to be done and maybe a few tons of mulch to add the finishing touches....right, like a garden is EVER finished!

Dorie, Definitely, nature doesn't seem to arrive and stay at a finished state, continual maintenance and replacement to keep it looking even close to the way we want :)

Wow... What lush green landscape!  One thing Debbie say's she misses is being able to grow her ferns and Hosta's here.  We just don't have enough shade for them to survive.  I think the lushness of the east is what she misses the most.  If we were closer we'd take the Garden Tour for sure!

John, We've got a HUGE bunch of hostas right next to our home, almost bloom time.  We have to keep them close to the house to discourage the deer from imbibing in hosta salad.
