It’s that time of year again ~ BBQs, families spending time at the pool, flags waving high, patriotic music and fireworks lighting up the night sky!! And, Austin and the surrounding communities know how to do it big time. Here are my top 5 choices for live music, lots of fun for the kids and fireworks for young and old!
1. Austin Symphony at Auditorium Shores at The Long Center

On July 4th, more than 100,000 people gather at Auditorium Shores for the largest Independence Day celebration in Austin. The Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks features patriotic music and the ever popular 1812 Overture - the latter punctuated by 75 millimeter cannons and fireworks over Lady Bird Lake. Free and open to the public.
2. Lone Star Riverboat 4th of July Celebration

3. Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival

Admission is free. Features include over 75 arts/crafts, vendors, stages, sponsor displays, childrens art workshops, a carnival, petting zoo, fireworks and live music.
4. Cedar Park Fourth of July Celebration

Come celebrate with us and enjoy a dance with live music, bingo, a washer tournament, air castles, free watermelon and a fireworks display. Fees apply for food concessions, face painting and some activities. You may also cool off at Milburn Pool which is open from 1-8pm; daily admission rates apply.
5. Round Rock Frontier Days Celebration
10am-11pm

A parade, carnival rides, jalapeno pepper eating contest, childrens games, Sertoma Rubber Duck Races, Sam Bass shootout, movies in the park and skydivers are all part of the City of Round Rock’s July 4th Celebration all leading up to the annual fireworks celebration!
