I Want One - Now!!!

Have you ever been sitting in your car stuck in traffic on a hot summer's day, sweat trickling down your forehead, debating whether you should open the window or turn the airconditioning on? Sure you have. Have you ever thought to yourself "there has to be a better way"? Of course you have, we all have thought that.

What happened to those flying cars that Popular Mechanics has been promising us since the 1960's? We've seen those cheesy boat/cars come and go without much fanfare, but nobody really wanted those anyway. Everybody has dreamed about soaring above the traffic waving at all the poor chumps stuck on the road, cool air blowing through our faces, avoiding toll booths as we glide towards our destination. Wouldn't that be cool?

Martin Jet Pack, a company from New Zealand, has been working hard to make this dream a reality. According to their website, they will be taking orders as early as 2014. They haven't determined a set price yet, but I gather it will be in the neighbourhood of about $100,000.

I think it would be a lot of fun strapping on my jet pack and nipping down to the pub for a pint or two. It would certainly save me from sitting in my car on a hot summer's day thinking that there's a better way to be spending my time.

Sounds a Little noisy.  I always get a kick out of Modern Marvels on the history channel when they show odd car designs from the past; including the boat/car combo and the car/airplane combo.

We can imagine strapping on our jetpacks to go out for dinner.

Malcolm, I dreamt about this as a kid.  I hope I am still alive and functioning in 2014!  Wouldn't that be fun!!?

Gene, I also love those futuristic things of the past.

Roy, it's the only way to go.

Janice, being deaf would be a small price to pay for that mode of transportation.

Ron, that would be a blast, I used to dream of stuff like that too.

You're on Chris, I'll let you know when mine arrives so you can test drive it.

Ya we want one Malcolm! Running out of gas may be a problem though, we'd have to look for an open sun roof or convertible quick!

Be great - especially in heavy traffic! Have to be careful though, somebody might shot you down . Road rage.
