Grace Guitar Lessons
STARRY is honored to be able to offer free guitar lessons to children we serve this summer! Through the partnership ofGrace Guitar Lessons, up to 25 of our kids will have the opportunity to begin to learn to play the guitar during the 6-week session. Grace Guitar Lessons has served the Round Rock community and given lessons to over 700 students, ranging from 7 to 87 years old. We’re so blessed that they’ve graciously offered lessons to STARRY kids this summer!
Learning to play an instrument can give kids a great creative outlet, but also teaches discipline, relieves stress, gives a sense of achievement, and is just plain fun.
While lessons are free, each of the kids will need to be provided with his or her own guitar. This is where you come in. We need to collect 25 new or gently used guitars before June 18. We’re asking for friends of STARRY to step up and help out! Do you have an old guitar you don’t use anymore? Donate it to a great cause!
No guitar? Don’t worry. For just a $50 donation, you can provide a brand new guitar for one of the kids to take lessons. Being given the chance to take lessons in this unique group setting and learning to play an instrument is a luxury that most of the children in our program don’t have. But your donation can make this summer extra special for one of our STARRY kids!
What does a $50 sacrifice look like for you?
- Giving up a month of Starbucks
- Trading dinner at a restaurant for dinner at home
- Giving up that round of golf this weekend
- Pack a lunch each day this week instead of eating out!
