Regarding Power Outages
If you're like me, you walked into your home after work the other day and found that you had lost electrical power to your property at some point earlier in the day.
All the tell-tale signs were there. Clocks needed to be re-set and things were blinking all over the place. With the heat being in the mid-90's that day, I felt we were very lucky ... the electricity had already come back on. And the A/C was back working.
But if that hadn't been the case in our immediate area, were you aware that Commonwealth Edison, our electrical provider, has now started a 2-way text messaging service enabling their customers to text outage information to the company? And the customers can now receive info back regarding restoration of their service too.
Commonwealth Edison customers need to opt into participating in this text service. To sign-up, go to:
Reporting an outage to ComEd is simple too. Just text OUT to 26633 (COMED).
One you complete this simple task, you'll be "in the know" regarding your ComEd electrical service ... and your future outage's restoration schedules.
