We are certainly enjoying summer in Sandy UT.

Sunrise (over the mountains of the Wasath Front) arrives prior to 6am and sunset it not until past 9pm - 15 plus hours of daylight to get everything done in that summer suggests. First and last light makes daytime even longer as late arriving vehicular tourists attest. Now the days can shorten again, little by little to the end of summer.

Here we are at 6pm, basking in 93F. (Weather Channel is happy to observe "feels like 87F ~ as if I could really tell the difference by personal observation.) The 5 - 15 mph winds, and very low humidity of this high altitude desert area make this a pleasant place to live, even if we have a tendency to avoid some of the outdoor warmth. Parks with leafy shade and water parks offer more instant relief.

Our apricot tree is loaded and this is its week for harvest. Other fruit trees will produce at intervals over the summer

Being the fouth season in Sandy UT, there are the evident roadworks, orange cones to add color to worker activity, ensuring the removal of potholes, and providing renewed smooth travelling surfaces.

Sandy UT is well placed for the approaching holidays

  • Independence Day July 4th
  • Pioneer Day July 24th ~ the Utah biggie.

This is a great time to visit Sandy UT, or even to contemplate making it your permanent home.

John - definitly a great place for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. With our drier climate, hydration during outdoor activity is an important issue.

Larry:  It sounds like Sandy UT is a great place to enjoy life.  The weather, the fruit trees and the outdoor activities would make anyone envious of what you have there.  Enjoy your day.

Larry, got to experience sundown in Utah many years ago and it was breath taking. Would like to be there with you to harvest the apricots, but fear they would be consumed as I picked! Enjoy your day!
