Warkworth Ontario, a Very Pretty Town

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Lanthorn Real Estate LTD., Trenton, Ontario

You will be hard pressed to find a town that is more picturesque in this part of the province than Warkworth Ontario. It is a few miles north of Codrington and a few miles south of Campbellford, just a little west of county Road 30 (exit 509 on the 401), or you can find it coming straight north on CountyRoad 25 (exit 497 on the 401).

Warkworth is a Trent Hills community, nestled in Northumberland County. To be honest, they are really drumlins, not hills, but it feels pretty much the same when you are walking up them on a warm summer's day. The town has a vibrant and pretty downtown core, and a mix of many beautiful older and newer houses. Warkworth is a nice mix of a farming community and an artisan community with a lot of boutique stores on its main street It also has an LCBO right downtown, so you'll never have to go far to get your beer or spirits.

There is always a lot to do and see in this village, the residents make an effort to keep it a very active place, and a fair number of tourists can be found wandering the streets in the summer.

One annual event that always brings a lot of people to the town is the Warkworth Western Weekend, also known as the Warkworth summer rodeo. There is also a long list of annual events such as the maple syrup festival, the lilac festival, the art in the park festival, and many more that keep the residents busy all year long.

One of the focal points of this town (as with many other towns in the area) is the hockey arena. Warkworth is a very strong hockey town and has captured 11 provincial titles over the years, the last one being in 1993-1994. That's a pretty amazing accomplishment for a town with a population of less than 2500 people.

There's a public library in town, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Methodist and a United Church are all there, there's an elementary school, a centre for the arts, an arts theatre, a skatepark, 3 (count 'em) 3 golf clubs, a millennium trail, a game park, and a conservation area.

It's little wonder that more and more people are finding Warkworth an attractive place to live and work. If you are interested in finding out some more about this community, don't hesitate to pick up the phone and give me a call. I'm very proud to sell real estate in this area.

What a great description of  a town that needs more residents!  I think Malcolm Johnston could definitely find a great home for buyers or buyers for any sellers in the tow of Warkworth Ontario.  I might even have to check this out myself, Malcolm!
