Tater tots and onion rings

With the warmer weather and increased daylight hours upon us, it is easy to forget to eat regularly, or for that matter, to properly space meals. That gnawing feeling in a growling stomach may well suggest a lack of nutrition.

Life can be hectic, with a never ending list of things to do.  Time passes so quickly when you are having fun,  or when work pressures and deadlines crowd. (“your lack of planning should not result in panic on my part” and “ten minutes early is definitely on time”.)

In hot weather formal meals seem so-o out of place, fast food does generally not appeal.  I need to eat -but what?

Today I convinced myself of the nutritional value of tater tots and onion rings, well drained of course. Two servings of vegetables even. With ketchup that would be three vegetables in one easy hit. (Had I opted for relish I could have gotten my vegetable count even higher). Now I feel so good about my decision – here is space definitely for a key lime pie with whipped cream.

Had I been in summer in Australia I could have argued for a really effective seven course meal ~ a six-pack and a meat pie.

It’s all a matter of perspective and location.

Anybody will eat anything at anytime if they are hungry enough. I do like Popeye's chicken onion rings however.

I too have to make sure I am eating when I am suppose to. I don't like to eat too early in the morning. So breakfast is really out. Mid morning is better for me. So I make myself eat a piece of dry toast. And that starts my eating day.

Hi Larry, even with our busy schedule, we should not forget to eat. Great food choices!

Larry, if the Australian version was a six-pack of Fosters, might have to go with your seccond choice as much as I like tater tots and onion rings (with or without ketchup)! Enjoy your day!

Larry - this is a timely post for me!  Being too busy to plan and eat healthy for the past year has resulted in some really bad habits!  The siz pack and meat pie sounds pretty good to me now as I am getting ready to leave my office and head for home.

The good thing is that FINALLY I am on a heath kick - eating and exercise and lots of water!  Working, but I can dream can't I?  :-)
