Are Buyers Getting Tired of the Media and Making Their Own Decision to Buy Now?

After sending out a bunch of emails to clients that did not purchase in 2007 I have started getting replies that are saying that they feel that NOW is the time to purchase property. I wonder if anyone else has had this same response?

I think that maybe people are going to start making their own decisions now about whether or not the prices will fall, or maybe they just feel that if they wait any longer that some of the really good deals will get gone? I think that Buyers have started questioning listening to so many outside influences on whether they should take the plunge or not on a purchase. I think maybe people are starting to listen to their own instincts.

Has anyone else got this vibe lately?

Jan,

I think many of the "well informed buyers" are coming back to the market, realizing prices and rates have in fact dropped.

Many believe this is the bottom, the RE market will flat line for 3-4 quarters and suddenly go higher along with the rates.

This has been a two year strangle hold on the entire country. There are no more frenzy type of buyers.

I can't remember when the media has not been talking about the real estate bubble bursting.  They have been saying it for years and when we get a downturn they have to help drive it down further to prove they were correct.

I believe that we are having to educate our buyers one at a time and they are willing to listen...........

I have some of each...buyers who seem to have it together, and understand the market, and those who are afraid of their own shadow, thinking the market is going to tank...........

A lot of buyers are getting tired of waiting for the dream. I think everybody should weigh longevity with the home sale - for the buyer who does not intend to sell any time soon, why not buy now?
