Zwaanendael Museum, Lewes, Delaware

Lewes, Delaware was the first town settled in Delaware. It was settled by the Dutch. The Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes has Dutch pottery and items from ships on display. There is a very nice Tulip Festival in May featuring the museum and the many restaurants in the town.

Thanks for your post.  Dolores just commented today that we should be looking at some of the available homes in the Lewes area.

Many Maryland buyers have selected Delaware for a retirement location because of the lower taxes.

JoAnne, That is a nice post!  Great job, I really didn't realize that the Dutch were the first settlers in Delaware.  This is one of the great things about Active Rain, I learn something new each day that I spend here!
