As you get close to the end of the road you will pass a series of signs to let you know what some of the unique rules are on the 4x4 beaches of Carova.
One of those rules is that ATVs are not allowed without a permit? To get a permit for your ATV you must be a property owner in Currituck County, and the vehicle must be registered with the county. So if you are coming fro out of town to vacation here for the week, don't bother towing your toys down behind you. The police do check for the proper sticker on your machine, and if you don't have one it will not be allowed on the beach.
