7 Things To Do In Pullman WA by Lori Cofer, Realtor

As I specialize with buyers who are relocating to our great community. I get asked about some things to do when visiting Pullman.

Living in the beautiful Palouse has it’s own charm.  We are located in the rolling hills of fertile farm land known for wheat, barley, lentils and dry pea fields.

As a result, we have many outdoor recreational opportunities.  Here is a list of 7 of the many you might want to consider.

1.  The Bill Chipman Trail.  This trail is a seven mile paved pathway between Pullman Washington and Moscow Idaho that runs parallel with Highway 270.  It is a favorite for walking, biking and skating.

2.  Kamiak Butte County Park.  This is one of my personal favorites, especially if you are new to the area.  It rises 3641 feet and provides 3 and one-half miles of trails.  From the top you see the rolling hills of the Palouse in a beautiful patchwork of colors as you look across the fields as far as your eyes can see.

3.  Palouse Falls State Park.  This breathtaking water falls cascades 198 feet right in the middle of the scablands.

4.  Red Barn Farms.  The farm has been owned for generations and is host to venues from weddings and summer concerts as well as wonderful pumpkin patch come fall.

5.  The Dahmen Barn.  One of my favorite landmarks, this barn has been completely rennovated and is host to many artisans for everything creative you can image!

6.  Golfing.  Palouse Ridge Golf Club is a 18 hole Scottish links style course with over 350 acres.  It was chosen as one of the top 20 golf courses to open in the US.  Miniature golf more your style?   Try the Airway Hills Miniature Gold and Driving Range that offers a 300 yard driving range and 2000 square feet of practice green.

7.  A trip to a winery.  Washington is known for its up and coming Washington wines.  Feel free to check out Merry Cellars, Wawawai Canyon Winery.  And if beer is more your style, try Palouse Falls Brewery or Paradise Creek Brewing Company.
