Is This My Baby Alligator in New Port Richey-FL

2 years ago I posted a picture of a baby alligator in our pond. Yesterday we had a 5-6 foot alligator taking a nap on the side of the pond. I wonder if this is Tebow? We named him that back in 2010. Maybe Tebow made a comeback.

Bye Bye, Tebow

The first picture was taken from my front door step. Craig made me come in.

There were moccasin and cottonmouth snakes on the golf course. All gone today as the waters receded. Parts of New Port Richey are still evacuated due to flooding. One of my SPCA board members was picked up along with her two dogs by an army truck and taken out of her neighborhood.

Today, the sun is out with whispy white clouds floating by. Bye Bye Debby.

Toni, I am glad to hear your husband made you come in! The storm has misplaced animals from their homes, you wouldn't want them to think you're their next snack!!

John - I took the second picture from my window.

Fernando - my pets aren't allowed outside-I have 2 captive cats.

Andrew - believe it or not at 5ft. he's more scared of us but I wouldn't get too close to test that theory :)

Joan - I do live in Wild Kingdom and I love it. Stay safe in CO.

Than - that's exactly why we never go in ponds here.

Tanja - LOL, I wouldn't want to be their next snack either.

Toni,

Glad Debby is gone for good and the sun and wispy clouds are back in your sky.  The alligator shots are so wonderful and if it is Tebow he must have been well fed.  I agree with Craig!  Have a great day.  A

Toni- I was watching the radar and news and you guys really got hammered.  Two words: Stay inside!!! oh yes... two more...mosquito repellent.  I don't do cottonmouths or water moccasins.  Snakes scare me. So do alligators.  Say good-bye to Debby!

I would be nervous too with an alligator just steps from you.  You guys had some realy terrible flooding down there.  My thoughts are with you all.

Howdy and evening Toni

Toni my friend, that there gator just might be Tebow coming back to visit y'all. Moccasins sure ain't anything to miss around with. I heard on the News, that in some areas the Rivers won't crest untill sometime in July and won't reced untill sometime in August. I sure do hope that does not happen to y'all.

Your mighty fine blog post has been Featured in the Wild Wednesday Group!

Have a good one

Hi Toni, We forget sometimes how floods can force wildlife out from their safety into our yards which can put our safety in peril. Thanks for sharing this and stay safe.

Hi Toni,

I have a lizard that comes back to see me often. Last spring he was about 1 inch and now he is 4-5 inches and comes and waits for me to bring  him dead insects. He still remembers that I would leave them on the rocks for him so he sits on the rock and waits.... But Toni, I could not be friendly with an alligator. Great pictures though; a well deserved feature in Wild Wednesday.

Yesterday was a super busy day; some of my listings had damage or issues to deal with; a tree down in one. It was the first day we could assess after the storm.Thank you all.

Will #8 Thank you for the compliment.

Bliz - definitely zoom lens which is what I used.

William #10 - I know you've seen these guys before!

Alexandra - I did come inside -- after a few more shots :)

Kathy - Mosquito spray in hand!

Jennifer - thank you.

Dale- thank you for the feature in Wild Wednesday.

William #15  - it does and they all head for higher ground like any sensible creature would do.

Carrie - definitely much cuter from a distance :)

Tony - I hope so too-I like to think that he has survived.

Kristin - Alligators are something to stay awway from; people make the mistake of feeding them.

There really are some wild places around America, aren't there, Toni!  Just this past week, we had a bear cub enter a garage and climb up and along the runners of a garage door, in nearby Foresthill.  To top it off, mama bear opened the garage door by lifting it up with her paw from the bottom, so she could get in and rescue her cub.  All of this caught on video by the homeowner!

OMG, Myrl, who knew that bears could open garage doors. That must have sent chills through all the people in the area. You're right, we live in Wild America.

Gary - I think so too. I couldn't get close enough to see if the mark I put on him 2 years ago was still there....just kidding!

Barbara - I love the things that are in the water; they make life interesting. But, i don't get too close to these things...or anywhere near close :)
