The Market Barometer can’t seem to get ahead of all the Good News! The National Association of Realtors (NAR) just reported that the Pending Home Sales Index is 13.3% higher than it was a year ago. At 101.1, it is as high as it was in June 2010 when buyers were rushing to beat the expiration of the tax credit. NAR projects that the housing market is on track to see a 9% to 10% improvement in sales this year. Meanwhile, the ever-stubborn Case-Shiller price index shows price increases in 19 of the 20 markets covered.
