Thanks to George Gardener's newsletter with updates about St Augustine and its history, we, who, suscribe to it, have learned that there is a new exhibit entitled Art y Facts of Drakes's Raid currently open for viewing at the Art Association on Marine St. Our own ciry architect, Karl Halbirt has uncovered artifacts from the 1586 Raid on St Augustine by Sir Francis Drake, including a charcoal portrait of Drake from the underground burn layer. Check this all out at www.staaa.org Drake was really here and now there are 49 newly discovered vessl to help document this historic event!
The 1950's (mid-century to you antique buffs) Magic Beach Motel at Vilano Beach, has reopened. Another addition to the dynamic, exciting changes to this wonderful area. Movin' and groovin' -always something new!
