Solidified Water? Does this really work?

Ask anyone who has ever had to remove a toilet, keeping the water from spilling out the bottom is extremely difficult. If the toilet tilts while lifting, water will pour out and onto the floor. This can be a problem in a bathroom remodel. I like to get a hefty bag worked under the bowl and raise the fixture carefully over into the tub where the water can be emptied.

While in the hardware store today, I saw this product that solidifies the water so that it doesn’t spill. This may require some more investigation before I feel comfortable trying this method.

Hmmm... it must be a product similar to what they use to produce "DriWater."

I'll bet it works. Instead of water you'll have something like jello. I had some room deodorizer once that was in a gel form - it looked like gel crystals. When it evaporated you just added some more water and it "came back to life." I wish I could remember the name and where I got it because it killed odors without leaving any perfume or chemical smell.

Interesting Tom.  I never heard of that.  When we do tile work, we always have a licensed plumber take care of the toilet removal/replacement, esp since that is what most condos and co-ops require here.  I will need to ask our plumber what he thinks abt this.

I wonder if he has heard of this sort of product Debbie. I'm curious to know if this technology came from a different application.

Thanks for the comment today!
