The older I get the more I begin to realize that each and every one of us has been created to become a happy and successful being.
I see this fact evidenced by the abundance of aid and resources we all encounter whenever we face something larger than ourselves. Even the grumpiest of cynics cannot hide from the fact that they have received aid in their lives at times when it mattered most. I also see this evidenced by how happy children are naturally. It seems as if they really get it and us cranky adults just don't.
Somewhere along the line we have gotten it beat into our thick skulls that we are all alone in this world and as a result are destined for failure and then death. And many of you who are reading this post may be in a sales slump and feel absolutely hopeless as to how to get out of it.
If you truly want to end your slump you can. But the caveat is you really have to want to.
If you really want to I would like to help you. But if you don't I kindly ask you take your hard luck story and peddle your tears to some other sap willing to listen to them.
I assure you I have no time nor patience to listen to whiners. Life is too short to spend it listening to whiners who don't realize they are winners who just haven't stopped whining long enough to become winners yet.
If you want to change your circumstances you can and will. But only when you truly want to will this transformation take place.
I remember my first job out of school after I was married was working for an organization that didn't pay me enough to support my family. So I opened up the classifieds and searched for jobs that would pay me the amount I needed in order to put a roof over my kid's head and food in their bellies. But I soon realized there were no such jobs available in my area other than sales work. So I laced up my imitation leather wingtips and applied for a sales job and after getting the job immediately found out I knew absolutely nothing about the art of marketing or selling.
So once again I was faced with the prospect of not being able to provide for my family the way I wanted to.
Knowing full well there were no job openings in which I could abandon my new sales job for I knew the only alternative I had was that I had to learn how to market myself and how to sell myself and my product.
How did I do this?
I started reading everything I could regarding the two subjects and immediately would put into practice whatever I learned. Some of the new ideas I learned worked well but most flopped.
Yet I stayed at it because I had no alternative but to stay where I was at and to learn how to provide for my family through my sales efforts.
And guess what happened.
Over the years I actually learned how to put bread on the table. But it wasn't because i was a genius either. But rather that I never allowed the word "quit" to enter my vocabulary and I stayed with it until I became successful at it.
Many of you reading this right now have no alternative but to stay where you're at and learn how to market and sell yourself to your prospects.

Let me know how your hard scramble turns out in the end.
I have an inkling you'll be right back with the rest of us once you realize there is no exit door in the burning building you find yourself in now.
When that happens I will be right here waiting to help you.
