It feels like yesterday when she was born. I remember the feeling of awe when I saw her for the first time. Her dad and I had no idea what we were in for. It's so true that you have no way to understand the way you will feel about your children until you have one.
It hardly seems possible that this baby has grown into a young lady. It's been such a delight to watch her develop, learn, and grow. It always fascinates me how children have distinct personalities. Sydney is no exception. She is a girlie girl - she likes glitter and bling. She is much more interested in fashion than I am, so I guess one of her jobs as she grows into her teen years will be to keep me hip :-)
Sydney is very musically inclined. I recently got to beam with pride as she was singing in the talent contest at school - don't know where she got the ability to sing (both her dad and I are terrible singers). She's been learning the violin this year and made a video for my grandpa (whose late wife was a piano & violin instructor) playing Beethoven's Ode to Joy on her violin and recorder.
I am so tremendously proud of my daughter!
I can hardly believe that I am the parent of a 10 year old. Where did the time go?
It has been an absolute joy having her in our lives and I cannot imagine what life would be without her by our side. I look forward to watching her grow and develop into a young woman.
Happy 10th Birthday Sydney! You dad, little brother, and I love you very much! You have made us the luckiest parents in the world!
