Help! Power outage!

By

This is day 29 of the latest 30-day challenge, and we lost power and the Internet.  And it's the last day that I can post about my all time favorite mobile device.  Yikes!

What's a girl to do?

Ah!  That's why God invented I-Pads.

When I first thought about my favorite can't-do-without electronic communications toy device I assumed I was going to write about my I-Phone.  I do love it.

But the other night, I had a dream that a big old Kansas style tornado was headed my way - it had three funnels that were intertwined.  Pretty scary!. It was time to run for cover to the basement. I grabbed my flute, my I-Phone and Willie the Labradoodle for a dive for shelter.

Then, I stopped in my tracks and ran back upstairs to grab my most important little tool of the trade - my trusty I-Pad.  And now I know why I find my I-Pad so indespensible.

It's not like it does things that my I-Phone can't.  They share all of the same apps.  It's just that it's a lot easier to use most of those apps.  The I-Pad screen is big enough to see without squinting.  The camera is pretty much the same, but somehow things looks bigger and brighter on the I-Pad.  And the keyboard is a whole lot easier to type on than the one on my I-Phone.

Oh, and there is even an app called Line-Two that makes it possible to make and receive calls on the I-Pad.

It's almost midnight, and thanks to this handy little tool of the trade, I was able to get this post up in time.

I sort of feel like I have to apologize to my I-Phone.  It is a truly amazing piece of miraculous technology.

I'll fix typos and add pictures in the morning.

Don't forget low tech in candles and flashlights.  So it is necessary to have some low tech.  Sorry for your loss.  LOL

Yeah I quit doing the real long contests myself as AR always seems to have some issues or curtain calls or glitches that keep me offline for a day or two so no need to get halfway done and then KABAM! That would be pretty aggravating.

Glad you found your secret weapon

LOL Pat...when I got home last night, I had trouble logging on to Active Rain and had the same fears.  Thank goodness for your iPad and thank goodness I finally got in.  Now, I just need 1 last post for today.

We had 75 mile per hour winds last night!  They came up in less than a minute!  I had to get up from bed, run onto the deck (in my Superman undies) and take the umbrella from the deck table or it would have ended up in Pennsylvania!

Stay safe and cool up there!  This is not the sort of weather where one wants to be without electricity and AC!

Funny! I vote for not fixing this post, it will alwasy remind you how resourceful you were "remember the day in June 2012 when I was not going to give up and made it work to post a blog entry with my iPad?!"

Pat, It's one of the things I like about having PDAnet installed on my Blackberry and laptop.  As long as I have juice for the laptop battery, I've still live and trucking along.  We just got power back after 20+ hours.  Enjoying the AC running and getting the house back to normal :)

Was doing fine with just my iPad until the cell service went down.  Then I couldn't get a connection on my mobile hotspot on my iPhone.  So I spent part of today seeking out my favorite WiFi spots to see where I could log-in.

Hello Patricia~ At the end of the last challenge I lost my Internet access and it wasn't a dream.  It was very stressful for me.  Here we are at the end of yet another challenge and I'm down to the wire!  I did my 30/30 part, but now I have to finishe the hyper local part.  Just 2 more posts to go!

Your storm was on our news here too, with severe power outages in many States.    Hopefully it returns soon and you are able to post again normally!
