Blogging From The Heart

By
Real Estate Agent with 805 County Real Estate

In the age where the majority of home buyers and even home sellers search online to find the next place to call Searching online for a homehome it is time that we, Realtors, became more personable and sociable online.

Our blogs are reviewed and examined by more readers these days than our impassive and detached websites.

Realtor

Those who are searching online for a new home are also searching for a Realtor who is compatible with their beliefs and convictions.

A blog with some statistics and data tends to be helpful and informative, however adding a little bit of yourself to your blog brings in and holds more readers. Your blog is an open journal where your readers or those who are considering working with you would like to read more and more to find examples of how you handled a certain situation.

Family comes first

We are more than contract writers and executors; we are people with families of our own and emotions. It seems rational to show your readers who you are before they make their final decision.

I know not all home buyers or home sellers care about who we are as long as we get them a great deal, however, I personally have come to experience that the more personal I am on my blog, the more I hear from my readers.  It is especially rewarding when they show understating and appreciation of who I am!!!!

I agree Mana.  It's a way to show others that we aren't robots behind the computers and live real lives just like everyone else too!

Like minded people connect with like minded people.  Writing with "heart" sets us apart from everyone else.  I think it is very important and shows who we really are behind our name badge.

There's a fine balance, in my opinion, between sharing our personalities, likes, dislikes, etc and inviting people in to the personal areas of our lives.  I agree that people should be able to get to know us through the marketing that we do, but I don't want my clients to suffer from TMI shock (too-much-information).  I know some people who I would never do business with because I feel they share things with me that are too private for the relationship that we have.  I think we need to be careful about what we post because of who reads it (the world).  Again, it is a fine line between establishing rapoire and being inappropriate.

Greg, Valid points. I'll be uncomfortable sharing my personal life with the "world", but I am not uncomfortable sharing here (on my blog) the same information that I would give my clients in an actual relationship.

HI Camarillo,

I think you are so right.  I have enjoyed very much writing about my area and my appreciation of its struggles in strengths and of course beauty.  I think my appreciation for my home region shines through.
