Hello Active Rain - There has been so much support for Colorado from all over as these these terrible fires began.
First, I personally am not close enough to be personally affected, other than some smokey days. I am about 45 minutes north of the Waldo Canyon fire that you have all heard so much about.
In the early days of that fire I did receive many texts and emails from some that I have met on AR years ago. Although I have not been active here, it is comforting to know that this is where those relationships originally formed. Our hearts and prayers are with those that have been devastated by all of the fires in Colorado and throughout the U.S.
I just posted this morning this amazing video on my own blog but thought many of you would like to see as well. I did not take the pictures or make the video, the photographer is a student and posted it on youtube yesterday. It is going viral for obvious reasons:Time Lapse Video of the Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado Springs
Here is an amazing time lapse video that was released by photographer and student Steve Moraco just yesterday I believe. It is 15 minutes long but worth watching. It is highly emotional, that is for sure. Turn your speakers on and watch it full screen.
The fire is further contained right now as I type this than his last report at the end of the video, but not out yet. As Steve writes at the end of the video, "Let us not loose hope!"
