Sightings in Northern Virginia Over The Weekend.

With no electricity, maining a hot, hot house, no computer, no TV, wouldn't open the frig., etc., I took advantage of the situation and had a bit of fun.

I don't generally post photos about local events without other content, market reports, interesting communities, etc.  However, some of the sightings of the past 2 days are truly "stand alone" fun photos.

With this property closing soon, I visited to determine whether or not there was storm damage.  There were some tree limbs down but there was a crew out there today tidying up and removing the debris.  I couldn't see any damage to growths near the house.  Very reassuring.  From the view of this tree limb, it appears that it was probably not a loss.  In fact, of my views of damage to trees in the area, most damage was to older and not so strudy trees.  Makes sense.

After all, just like folks, when you're young and fall, you bend and bruise.  When you're older and fall, you BREAK.

THE 4TH OF JULY MAN.  Just look at the flags.  I thought he was selling them.  He is displaying them, up and down the streets of Leesburg, Virginia.

Motorcycle Man - Shot at a gasoline station in Haymarket, he said he was smiling under the mask.  I believed him because he posed for the photo.

This home just settled and I visited it to determine any damage.  Buyers are still out of town and I know they were concerned.  Everything is fine and they had a visitor in the back yard.  I e-mailed the photo to the buyers, still in Hawaii, to show the children.  No doubt they'll expect to see the rabbit in the back yard when they get to their new home.

More to come. . . . . . .  They're in my other camera.

Lenn- as I live and breathe.... photos from Lenn!!!   Your going out to your Buyer's home as well as the property that is about to close speaks to your longevity as a Realtor!  I love this time of year in Leesburg  with the farmer's markets open!  I thought about you when i began reading about all of the power outages and falling tree limbs in your area.  Glad you're safe!

Kathy.  All's well, although my A/C has decided to take a vacation.  Condenser is on back order.  Oh well.

Mike.  I knew we were going to be in trouble in Lovettsville when I heard the storm was in Winchester.  It hit very hard about 10:00 p.m. and the electricity was out in about 5 minutes, for ALL OF LOVETTSVILLE.

The bunny photo is great and that was sweet of you to email it to the new owners and their children.

Lenn, I'm glad that you survived your ordeal.  The bunny reminds me of the two deer that ran through my yard this morning. My neighborhood has no wooded areas, so they were out of their homeland.  My penned dog was so confused that he didn't bark.  They brought a smile to my mom and I at 7:00 this morning!

Debbie.  Me too.

Carla.  They've been through a rough time moving.  They're in a hotel now with two toddlers.

Carol.  No matter how familiar the wild animals are, they always make us smile.

Lenn from what I have seen on the news so far you guys got slammed down there.

When we got hit with a storm late last Fall, Lenders would not give a clear to close until the Appraiser went out to every property to make sure that house did not get damaged from the storm.  If there was damage it had to be repaired before a clear to close was given.

Lenn, what a great service to your clients - checking out their homes while they're away.  I'm sure you wish you away with them with all the damage I've seen and heard about your area.

Juli.  Not a problem.  I'm out and around all the time anyway.  If clients can relax, I can relax.

George.  The contract actually takes care of that but few buyers/sellers/agents would enforce it.  HA!  I would.  Which is why I took the time to observe the house waiting to close.  Clear of trash and debris includes covers property, not just the improvement, the house.

Sally.  I surely hope so.  I know that if I were a buyer out of town, I'd want some comfort that all is well.
