Dobbs Ferry, a relatively quiet rivertown in Westchester County has two major project and initiatives that are well on their way!
Rivertown Square has been through its multiple stages of approval since January 2011 when they applied for a land use permit. This multi-use complex will have retail/restaurants/shopping and even an Inn on the third floor in a location that many of us pass regularly on the Saw Mill River Parkway. For those of us who go to the New York Sports Club in Dobbs Ferry, on corner of Lawrence and Saw Mill River Parkway (Chauncey Square)., this will be the core of the Rivertown Square complex! Click on the Site Plans (#4) to see the latest large rendition of what they plan!

On May 22nd, they reviewed the SEQRA (State Environment Quality Review Report), as well as the FEIS (Final Environmental Impact Statement). Plans are now going forward with discussions in the town to complete the reviews.
Waterfront Redevelopment Project is under way! This is a project by Dobbs Ferry that has been discussed, reviewed and pursued for several decades! Click on attached link and you can see a video on the Ground Breaking Ceremony with all of the officials, state, local and private citizens talking about this exciting venture to revitalize the waterfront. This was a nice “non partisan” agreement and investment by The Department of State Environmental grant, county offices as well as private funds!
On the same page as the Waterfront Revitalization Project you will also see a notice on the latest SEQRA review May 23rd for Riverfront Square.
I guess my only question on the Riverfront Square complex would be;
with the near completion of Ridge Hill in Yonkers with its numerous
stores, restaurants and movie complex only 4.5 miles away, is there a need for more retail stores and restaurants in the area? And, even though I did read the traffic report with ways to ease the heavy flow of traffic near Ardsley exit off the Saw Mill River Parkway, will we have more traffic jams during rush hour on the Saw Mill?
Comments and thoughts welcome!

That sounds like some nice improvements for the area. Oh, and I sometimes go to the Starbucks by the New York Sports Club.
